The editors at Beyond Worlds are seeking new works of speculative and weird fiction that explore the uncanny and prophetic aspects of the imagination.
We are seeking short works — in the form of poetry, prose or comics — that not only transport the reader to worlds beyond our own, but cause us to question the cultural and political contours of the current age. H. P. Lovecraft and Algernon Blackwood, Alan Moore and Margaret Atwood: these are some of the authors who inspire our writers to enter the nether-regions of the mind. We want environmental horror, classic space tales, the ‘new weird’, crafted dystopias and slow-burn ghost stories. We want dream-quests and esoterica, the glowing and the eerie. What excites us as readers and writers is work that transports us in space and time, breaking down the barriers between the worlds of the real and possible, of fiction and history.
